Transformers 3 Toys | Voyager Optimus Prime Review

Look who is back as a one of the Transformers 3 Toys. It’s the hero of the autobots. It’s Optimus Prime himself. We looked at the MechTech Voyager version  of Optimus Prime. This toy looks great and has some great attention to detail. If you are a die-hard Transformers fan you probably have owned all of the previous Voyager figures. However, I would argue that this is the best one yet.
The design easily trumps those of the previous versions. Hasbro has rated this toy a 2 out of 3 for difficulty. Fans will no doubt find the transformation pretty self explanatory. Newcomers may get stuck here and there and might need an online youtube video to help them out on the more difficult parts. I found that this Voyager figure was a lot easier to transform than previous version.
Even my wife was impressed by the details. I think that the chest plate looks exceptional. This time around they have made the arms look a lot more natural. They are not big and bulky anymore.
These new MechTech toys each come with their own MechTech weapon. Voyager Optimus Prime comes with an ion blaster which can turn into a battle cannon. The MechTech weapon can be attached to both the vehicle and robot form. In vehicle form it can be stored at the back of the cab.
There are a couple of tricky parts in the transformation. It is not a cake walk by any stretch of the imagination. The toy really feels strong and has an excellent build quality. I love that you can move the arm and legs in just about any pose that you can think of. It is excellent for acting out battle scenes from the movie. Mechtech Voyager is a definite keeper and a worthy edition to any collection.
